c1868 Miss Wright

This gown is coppery brown and black check taffeta crinolette. 

The bodice has a high neck with buttons to the waist. It is trimmed with copper ribbon, embroidered with black circles, forming a deep V from the shoulders to under the bust. To complete the bodice there are two small bows on the centre front and a cream embroidered, pointed collar. 

The sleeves are long with curved bell-like cuffs edged in the copper and black ribbon. There are cream cotton inner sleeves.

The crinolette skirt is flat in the front with pleats at the sides and back. The hem features pleats on the cross and two rows of copper ribbon.
